We have exciting news in regards to Haylie Neolithic Tomb to share with you all!
There is both an excavation and a series of site tours scheduled for 14th-17th of September!

Archaeology Scotland will be on site, conducting an excavation of the mound at the tomb. This is a ‘spoil heap’ from a previous dig in the 1950’s and it will be fascinating to see if anything of archaeological interest is discovered.
Also, members of the Haylie Neolithic Tombsters will be there, giving tours of the site at 2pm. These tours are completely free and you will learn about the site itself, how the excavation is going and what is being done to care for the site.
The tours are each day (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) from 2pm – 3:30pm and are completely FREE to attend. The tours start at the main driveway entrance to Douglas Park.
This is a unique opportunity to learn about one of the oldest historic sites in North Ayrshire.
Don’t miss it!
