Captain Ernest Gordon, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, who was wounded, and later taken prisoner by the Japanese, when attempting to ferry Europeans from Singapore to Sumatra, has cabled that he is now liberated, and in India. He is expected to be home soon. He is a son of Mrs James Gordon, Cumbrae Lighthouse.
