Our newest exhibition is here and on display at the Heritage Centre!
Focusing on the Ardrossan Castle Heritage Society, come and learn all about this wonderful volunteer group who are now celebrating their 10th anniversary.
“We were invited to set up as an organisation as the castle was in a state of disrepair and NAC were looking to work in collaboration with a community organisation to undertake activities that would help change people’s perceptions of the castle area into a place of value. At this time there was lots of anti social behaviour activities taking place on the hill and a clear risk to visitors from fallen masonry from the castle.“
Over the past decade, the Ardrossan Castle Heritage Society has championed the castle by delivering talks, spearheading archaeological digs and hosting community events such as the Ardrossan Carnival in 2016. The Society is currently looking to the future, with ambitious plans for a heritage hub at the castle.
