Ross Stewart was born in Irvine on the 11th of July, 1996. He started his footballer career in the Juniors in 2013, with Ardeer Thistle and Kilwinning Rangers before joining semi-pro team Albion Rovers in 2016.

He would only last a season at Albion Rovers, being scouted by St. Mirren and signing a full-time contract with the club in 2017. A frustrating period followed, as he was unable to break into the first time and was loaned out to Alloa Athletic before transferring to Ross County in 2018.

This spell with Ross County was far more successful, spending 3 years at the club and drawing attention of English club Sunderland A.F.C. In the 21/22 season, he finished as the joint top goal scorer in the English Championship, being nicknamed the ‘Loch Ness Drogba’ by the fans.

Injury marred his time at Sunderland and he was transferred to Southampton in September, 2023.

Ross received his first call-up to the Scotland national team in March 2022 and went on to make his debut on the 8th of June against Armenia in a Nations League game. Injuries derailed his international career but he was called up to the squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
