All aboard for our new exhibition!
‘Song of the River Steamers‘ is now on display at our Heritage Centre in Saltcoats and features a wide variety of objects including models, paintings, brochures and more from the collection of Charles Glen. His collection was kindly donated to us in 2018 and was recently on display at Millport.
The new exhibition is now on display and will run (sail?) until the end of June. We are open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday every week (9:30am – 1pm & 2pm – 4:30pm) and on the last Saturday of every month. So be sure to catch it while it’s here! We are also putting a call out to all of our readers: do you have memories of sailing ‘Doon the Watter’ to Ayrshire? We would love to interview you about your memories of the steamers and the trips you could take on them!
